Here’s a beautiful and shiny rainbow obsidian sphere. It has a strong green cat’s eye on either “pole” otherwise the ball is shiny black.

1.7″ Eudialyte Sphere Quebec Canada SPOS50

Here’s a very attractive eudialyte (red) in matrix sphere. In the matrix there is aegirine (black) and, I believe, arfvedsonite (dark green). The eudialite has a great color and it is gemmy.

The workmanship of the sphere is outstanding (thanks to Dale). There are insignificant healed fractures.

The approximate weight of the sphere is 4.2 oz and it has about 1.7″ diameter (43.2 mm). Origin: Mont Saint Hilaire, Quebec, Canada.

1.9″ Silver Lace Onyx Sphere Calico California SPOS63

This an attractive silver lace onyx sphere. This material is getting scarce. The mine is located at the Calico Mountains in California but it has been closed for many years. Dale and I collected some material at the vicinity of the mine.

The sphere is of high quality material and has a great polish. Dale did a great job with this. The onyx has beautiful bands in  white and honey colors. The black patterns on the “poles” are silver.

2.5″ Howlite Sphere California SPOS102

This howlite sphere looks and feels like porcelain. It has fine spiderwebs and some yellowish tan color with the remaining all white. Dale and I collected the material long time ago.

Dale made the sphere which is of high quality and has a great polish. Howlite is not rare but, in my opinion, the Tick Canyon howlite is the best.

2.67″ Jet Sphere Black Lignite Witches Stone SPOS61

Here’s an unusual sphere. It is made of jet which is a variety of lignite

The sphere was made in Australia but dale reworked it to improve its polish. Jet is relatively hard material which makes it possible to work with it and make carving, jewelry, and…spheres! The stone was thought of magical (thus witches’ stone) and it was used for protection.

The sphere is “JET BLACK” and very smooth with an incredible feel to it. It has a few unavoidable surface imperfections mostly on one of the “poles”. It has a 2.67″ diameter and its weighs about 7.1 oz.

1.77″ Shattuckite Sphere Congo SPOS43

Here’s is a lovely shattuckite sphere. Well, it it not just shattuckite because there is cuprite (reddish), chrysocolla (turquoise), malachite, and hematite as well.

This shattuckite came from Africa but Dale re-worked it to make it smooth and give it a great polish.

The sphere is rather dark but it comes alive when viewed under a reading light or even better in sunlight. A little red color in most of the photos is a reflection of my t-shirt (sorry).

This shattuckite sphere weighs about 5.6oz  and it has about 1.77″ diameter (45.1 mm).

1.68″ Shattuckite Cuprite Sphere Congo SPOS88

Here’s is a lovely shattuckite sphere. Well, it it not just shattuckite because there is cuprite (reddish), azurite (dark blue) and other copper minerals.

This shattuckite sphere was made in Congo but Dale re-worked it to make it smooth and give it a nice polish. This shattuckite sphere weighs about 4.3oz  and it has about 1.68″ diameter (42.6 mm).

3.4″ Sodalite Sphere Blue Pink Namibia SPOS37

This Sodalite sphere is gorgeous, unusual and a great collector’s item. Dale did a great job with this sphere. It is fairly large, colorful, and it has a great polish. The material and workmanship are both excellent.  

Sodalite comes in more colors than blue and this one has several more like pink, green, and white. This sodalite is also full of specs of pyrite. This sodalite is not fluorescent.

The approximate weight of this sodalite sphere is 2 lbs and it has about 3.4″ diameter (86 mm). Origin: Namibia, Africa.

This  rhodonite sphere is unusual and spectacular.

Dale made the sphere from rhodonite material from Wrightwood, California.

Rhodonite is a manganese inosilicate (MnSiO3) where manganese is partly replaced by iron, calcium, and magnesium.

The sphere has a beautiful light pink color and black in amazing patterns. Some yellow color is due to iron oxide. The photos were taken in bright sunlight so, the pink color is lighter in the photos than in person. 

It has a 3.26″ diameter (82.7mm) and weighs about 2.1 lbs.

1.9″ Angelite Sphere Anhydrite Peru SPOS83

Dale made this angelite sphere from an  angelite nodule from Peru. The mineral is anhydrous calcium sulfate, or gypsum without the water (the chemical formula for gypsum is CaSO4-2H2O).

The sphere is of excellent workmanship, flawless, and shines really nicely. The white spot is one of the photos is natural. Angelite occurs in a white matrix.

Verdite is a beautiful and very decorative stone from Zimbabwe also called greenstone. It is mainly used for carving.
