3.7″ Graphic Amazonite Sphere Green Feldspar SPOS35
Here’s an amazing graphic amazonite sphere. Amazonite is a variety of feldspar, microcline, with greenish bluish color. Feldspar is one of the most common minerals on earth. It is a rock forming mineral and a well known rock that consists of high amounts of feldspar is granite.
The color of the amazonite is due to trace impurity content of lead, copper, or iron (not known exactly which one). Regardless of the impurity mineral, the toxicity risk in amazonite is very low. However, it is good to be aware of the possible presence of lead.
The name graphic feldspar comes from the presence of quartz (in this case white and smoky) that alternate with feldspar to form these beautiful patterns.
Dale made the sphere and he did a super job. The sphere is very chatoyant and has a great polish (it shines like glass). It is great for a sphere collection and outstanding for decor.

This graphic feldspar sphere has amazing patterns resulting from the intergrowth of quartz (smoky) and feldspar (cream). Feldspar is one of the most common minerals on earth. It is a rock forming mineral and a well known rock that consists of high amounts of feldspar is granite.
We collected the rock in Eastern San Diego Co. and Dale made the sphere. There are a few minor and unavoidable surface imperfections but the sphere has a great polish overall.
The sphere is great for a sphere collection and/or decor.

This graphic feldspar sphere has amazing patterns resulting from the intergrowth of dark smoky quartz and orange and cream feldspar. Feldspar is one of the most common minerals on earth. It is a rock forming mineral and a well known rock that consists of high amounts of feldspar is granite.
The sphere was made in Madagascar and it is of excellent quality. There is a small area with roughness but the polish is great overall.

3.18″ Salmon Feldspar Sphere Moonstone SPOS78
This salmon feldspar sphere has a beautiful sheen on opposite “poles” and outstanding color. We collected the rough stone on the Black Hills of So. Dakota.
Dale made the sphere and he did a super job. The sphere has beautiful striations and an outstanding polish . There are insignificant fractures (i.e. they are healed fractures and do not affect the integrity of the sphere).

This is an exquisite labradorite sphere with lots of flashes all over. The ball is large and very attractive with blue and gold and some pinkish flashes all over. The flashes are best seen in bright sunlight or reading light.

2.8″ Granite Sphere Decorative Ball SPOS70
This granite sphere is very attractive, very shiny, and fluorescent. Granite consists of many minerals but the main ones are quartz and feldspar.
The sphere has about a 2.83″ diameter (71.8 mm) and it weighs about 1.1lbs. It is nicely made, has a beautiful polish and it is great for a sphere collection or decor. The ball is fluorescent under SW UV glowing a dull red (feldspar is the fluorescent mineral).

3.9″ Opal Rhyolite Sphere Nevada SPOS116
This rhyolite sphere is large and very unusual.
Most of the orbs in this rhyolite are filled with common opal in various colors (white, bluish, cream and yellow). The red color is due to iron oxide. The orbs are actually nodules embedded into the rhyolite. Some of the opal is transparent to translucent and the others are opaque and colorful.
We collected a large rough rock in one of our rock hunting trips in Nevada and Dale made several spheres with it.
The sphere has a great polish. There is one small section with a slight uneven feel.
It has a 3.89″ diameter (98.8 mm) and it weighs about 2lbs 10 oz.
