This iolite with sunstone sphere is gemmy and it has a beautiful lavender color. It also has fire from the sunstone inclusions. To see the fire rotate the sphere slowly and in all directions in bright light (best in sunlight).
Dale made this sphere from a gem specimen from Tanzania.
The sphere is small ( 1″ diameter or 25.9mm) but really cute. It weighs about 25g.
