This black Jade sphere is quite rare. It is made of nephrite jade from Wyoming which is not easy to come by these days. The sphere is fairly large, very dark with irregular bands of black and very dark green jade. Nephrite jade is the official Wyoming State gemstone.
This sphere is an outstanding collector’s item.
Dale made this sphere and he did an excellent job. The polish is wonderful. All the white dots and other shapes are inclusions in the stone (not on the surface). There are insignificant hairline fractures.
