Here’s a rare schalenblende egg. It is not only rare but also elegant, with amazingly intricate patterns.
Schalenblende is a mixture of sphalerite, wurtzite, galena, and pyrite/marcasite.
The egg is very nicely made and has a great polish.

Sphalerite and wurtzite are fluorescent and this egg is stunning under LW UV. I included photos taken under a black light. The colors are mostly orange and yellow and brighter than in the photos.

This is a gorgeous little egg. The quartz is lightly smoky and it is full of very fine and shiny pinkish peach rutile. The rutile is very dense on one section.

2.73″ Rare Rutilated Quartz Crystal Egg EG30
Here’s an outstanding rutilated quartz egg. It is large, brilliant, smoky, has a little lodolite , and it is full of fine gold color rutile .
The rutile forms wonderful sprays and rare crosses several of them .
This rutilated quartz egg is very gemmy and very chatoyant. It has three bright lines forming a 3-point star that glows through the egg.
There is a little roughness at the base of the lodolite and the root of the rutile sprays. There are minor surface imperfections.
The photos do not tell the full story of this egg because the rutile is all over, shiny and reflects the light in many directions giving a distorted view in the photos. However, observing the egg with naked eye under a reading light or sunlight is a feast for the eyes!
Based on its largest dimensions, it is 2.73″ tall (69.5 mm) and 2.05″ wide and weighs 272.3g.
