Return to Stone Spheres
This Pyrite sphere from Peru is very attractive and full of vugs with shiny pyrite crystals. It is yellow, it glitters, and it is heavy but it is not gold. Well it is fool’s gold or iron pyrite (FeS2, iron and sulfur). The actual ball is more golden color than shows in the photos.
The sphere is outstanding and great for a sphere collection or decor. It was made in Peru but Dale reworked it to make it round and give it a nice polish.
The approximate weight of the sphere is 1.9 lbs and it has about 2.75″ diameter (70 mm).
