Return to Stone Spheres
Here’s a gorgeous hematite sphere with quartz crystals. It is unsual and very interesting hematite sphere. Nothing unusual about a hematite sphere but this one is different. Most hematite spheres have a smooth and highly polished surface. This one is full of very shiny (mirror-like) or red/rusty vugs or small iron stained quartz crystals. I could not get the shine in the photos but the quartz crystals show nicely. The surface patterns are incredible.
Dale made this artistic sphere. Intentionally, he did not do the final polish to allow the contrast between the matte finish of the surface and the shiny or hematite stained vugs.
The sphere is outstanding and great for a sphere collection.
The approximate weight of this hematite sphere is 2.1 lbs and it has about 2.93″ diameter (74.5 mm).
