5.45″ Red Jasper Sphere So Africa SPJ61
SOLD
This large red jasper sphere is gorgeous. It has bright color, white quartz with inclusions, some agate (cream) and a little metal which, I think is, hematite. It also has thin agate lines (they are not fractures) and it is quite heavy (8.2 lbs). There are also a couple of vugs (natural voids) in the large quartz section.
Dale made the sphere and he did a great job. There are very minor surface imperfections at a couple of small sections that have inclusions. This is due to the difference in hardness of quartz and jasper (both are very hard) versus the hardness of the inclusions (softer).
The sphere is very decorative. See a photo of this sphere on a manzanita root stand below. The stand is not included in this listing and it is sold separately.
Origin: So Africa

The red in the photos (at least on my computer screen) looks darker than the actual (red with a slight orange).
This jasper sphere has about 5.45″ diameter (138.4 mm) and it weighs about 8.2 lbs.

Dale made this sphere and he did wonderful work. There are minor and unavoidable surface imperfections. This sphere was a challenge to make because not only it is large and heavy but also the material is very difficult to work with.
