Return to Gemstone Spheres
This synthetic sugilite sphere is made of “fake” sugilite but still gorgeous. Synthetic sugilite is the only synthetic material Dale ever made a sphere from. Fake, yes fake sugilite, but we were intrigued with its amazing color.
The photos were taken outdoors in bright sunlight. The sphere appears just a bit darker indoors.
The approximate weight of this sphere is 2.34 lbs (1063.2g), and it measures about 3.85″ in diameter or 97.8 mm.
Origin: Man made material. I do not know anything about the composition of this material.
See more photos of this sphere below. As you see in the photos, there is not much variation except for the fracture-like dark lines they introduced into the material. Uniformity is one characteristic of fake minerals.
