Here’s is a brilliant corundum sphere. It is a combination of blue sapphire and ruby and it is very chatoyant and unusual. Sapphire is basically any color corundum except red. Red corundum is ruby.
This corundum sphere is gemmy and has wonderful colors like red, purplish red, and (hard to describe) bluish/grayish purple. The photos were taken in bright sunlight.
Origin: The stone comes from India. The sphere was also made in india and it has a very good polish. There are very minor imperfections.
