This charoite sphere is a large and beautiful in various shades of purple and brown charoite, lots of microcline quartz (greenish rounded “moons”), tinaksite (orange), and aegirine (black).
Charoite is a rare gemstone. The mine in Siberia closed a long time ago and there is very little good material left in the market.
The sphere was made in Russia and it is of very good workmanship. There are silky charoite swirls and many lovely “moons”.

It has about a 4″ diameter (3.99″) or 101 mm and it weighs about 3 lb 2 oz.
