Return to Stone Spheres
This wonderful sphere has pyrite embedded in quartz along with possibly hematite and/or other minerals. The rust color hairline fractures is a good indication of the presence of hematite.
Dale made the sphere and his workmanship is excellent. The sphere is very pretty. When you rotate it under a light you get golden flashes in gray/black and white background. Some of the quartz is fluorescent (light green under SW UV). Its polish is great.

The approximate weight of this pyrite/calcite sphere is 9oz and it has about 2.2″ diameter (55.8 mm).
