Sapphire is the Birthstone for September
Here’s is a brilliant sapphire sphere.
It is gemmy, very chatoyant and has two stars, one on each of the “poles”. The stars are best visible in bright sunlight. They appear like bright spots but they have rays visible when slightly rocking the sphere.
The sphere is generally black and dark grey but when viewed in sunlight one can also see some pinkish/gray. There are also small specks of hematite.
Origin: This sapphire sphere comes from India and has a very good polish.

The sphere has a 1.76″ diameter or about 44.9 mm and it weighs about 180.8g or 904 ct.
