Here’s a small but exquisite rutilated quartz sphere with lodolite.
It is lightly smoky and very transparent except for the rutile and the lodolite. The rutile is silver color and very fine. The lodolite (generally, various minerals mixed with soil) looks like a mountain and magnified by the crystal.
Quartz spheres are not photogenic mostly due to the reflections and the inclusions. This sphere is a lot better in person than in its photos.
The sphere was made in brazil and its workmanship is outstanding. There is a fill at the base of the lodolite and visible in one of the photos. Usually, the base of the lodolite is left natural and it is somewhat rough. Whoever made the sphere thought that using a smooth filling is better. I personally do not care for this so I have adjusted the price accordingly. Other than the fill, this sphere is absolutely a darling!!
