2.28″ Cobaltite Sphere Rare Ball Canada SPR33
Here’s a rare sphere. It is made of cobaltite in a little matrix with possibly some dolomite and silver. It comes from the old silver mines in Cobalt Canada that closed about 30 years ago.
Cobaltite consists of Cobalt, Arsenic, and Sulfur (CoAsS). Please note that Arsenic is toxic (I would not lick this sphere…).
Dale made the sphere and he did a super job. The sphere has a beautiful metallic luster in contrast with specs of dull matrix.
This cobaltite sphere has 2.28″ diameter (57.9mm) and it weighs about 1.4lbs.
Origin: Cobalt, Ontario, Canada.
