15-lb Petoskey Stone Fossil Coral Head FS12
Petoskey Stone is a colony coral called Hexagonaria Percarinata. The coral thrived 350 million years ago during the Devonian Period in an area covered with water and what is now Michigan. Among other areas in Michigan, Petoskey Stone, is also found in and at the shores of lake Michigan around the town of Petoskey.
This Petoskey Stone is a whole and very beautiful coral head. It is natural, not polished. It was photographed wet in sunlight.
The fossil weighs about 15 lbs and it is 11″ long, 10″ wide, and 4″ thick.
