Petoskey Stone is a colony coral called Hexagonaria Percarinata. The coral thrived 350 million years ago during the Devonian Period in an area covered with water and what is now Michigan. Among other areas in Michigan, Petoskey Stone is also found in and at the shores of lake Michigan around the town of Petoskey.
Dale made the sphere and he did a great job.
