This is an absolutely spectacular fluorescent sphere. Dale made the sphere from a calcite and fluorite specimen collected at Castle Dome Arizona.
The sphere glows red (calcite) and blue (fluorite) under short wave UV light. The pictures are not perfect but certainly give an idea of the intensity of the fluorescence.
The sphere has 2.25″ diameter (57.2 mm) and it weighs about 10 oz.
