Youngite Agate Sphere Fluorescent SPA8
Youngite is a wonderful and rare agate found in Eastern Wyoming, at the Hartville Uplift near Guernsey. The primary mine is closed to collecting and this beautiful material is getting scarce.
Youngite agate is silicified pink/peach color breccia cemented (naturally) with gray to blue chalcedony and coated with the same color drusy chalcedony. The chalcedony is fluorescent and this sphere, fluoresces light green under a UV light.
Dale made the ball and his workmanship is excellent. The sphere has vugs with drusy chalcedony and very attractive brecciations. Overall, this is a wonderful sphere with a great polish.
The sphere has a 2.02″ diameter (51.4 mm) and it weighs about 6 oz. Origin: Wyoming.
