Youngite Agate Sphere Fluorescent SPA9
Youngite is a wonderful and rare agate found in Eastern Wyoming, at the Hartville Uplift near Guernsey. The primary mine is closed to collecting and this beautiful material is getting scarce.
This agate is silicified pink/peach color breccia cemented (naturally) with gray to blue chalcedony and coated with the same color drusy chalcedony. The chalcedony is fluorescent and this sphere fluoresces neon green and looks magnificent under a UV light.
Dale made the ball and his workmanship is excellent. The sphere has a few vugs and very attractive peachy/brown brecciations. Overall, this is a wonderful sphere with a great polish.
The sphere has a 2.79″ diameter (70.9 mm) and it weighs about 1 lb. Origin: Wyoming.
