This gem rhodonite sphere is out of this world. Dale made it and he did an excellent job.
The sphere is absolutely gorgeous and a rare collectors’ item. It has about 2″ diameter (52 mm) and it weighs about 9.14 oz (about 259 g or 1295 ct).
Origin: The rough material comes from Lafaiete, Minas Gerais, Brazil.

This emerald in matrix sphere is gorgeous.
It has many gemmy and large emerald crystals with very good color. In the photo on the left one can see the crystals cut lengthwise. There is some shiny hematite as well.

2.2″ Larimar in Matrix Sphere Caribbean Gemstone SPG45
Larimar comes from the province of Barahona in the Western Region of the Dominican Republic and it is as exotic as it gets. It is blue pectolite found in basalt pockets (vugs) along with a variety of other minerals. It is rare, only found in the Dominican Republic, and mined in small quantities.
Dale made this wonderful larimar sphere from an almost round and solid nodule i.e. one full basalt pocket filled with larimar (possibly pure larimar inside).
Pure larimar is a beautiful stone and Dale has made a few spheres from this exotic material. This sphere, however, is larimar and other minerals (including copper) mixed with basalt matrix and with each other in some outstanding patterns. Iron oxide gives the red, orange, and pink colors. I have spent a lot of time admiring this ball under a magnifying glass. As they say, the devil is in the detail.
The quality of the material, the workmanship, and the polish of this sphere are all outstanding.

4.69″ Opal Butte Opal Sphere Rare Gemstone Oregon SPG85
This Opal Butte Opal sphere is large, very attractive, and a great collectors’ item.
Opal Butte Opal occurs inside nodules, or thunder eggs, and it is mostly known for its wonderful colors. It took a very large thunder egg to make this sphere.
Most of the sphere consists of the thunder egg matrix (rhyolite). However, there are two windows of colorful (some yellow, orange and a little blue) and some clear opal.
There is also a section of particularly beautiful common opal (peachy cream color) with a bluish lining, cracked egg shell patterns, and some brownish yellow dendrites.
There is some fire in various sections and small rainbows. The matrix itself is a very nice and colorful rhyolite (some mixed with opal) with interesting patterns. See more photos of this sphere.
The workmanship of the sphere is just outstanding! It has a 4.69″ diameter and it weighs about 4.25 lbs.

This opal sphere is awesome; it is of very high quality, translucent, and has lots of opalescence (milky tinge) as well as some wonderful inclusions. Common opal, as opposed to precious opal, does not display iridescence (fire). However, opal does not necessarily need to have fire to be awesome.
Dale made this wonderful sphere from a chunk of opal from Brazil and he did an outstanding job. The ball shines like glass.

Kogolong Sphere Rare White Gemstone 2″ Tanzania SPG87
Here’s a kogolong sphere. Dale made it from a rough kogolong nodule from Tanzania. kogolong is used in fine jewelry and I do not believe you will find a sphere made of this material anywhere else. This is an absolutely rare collectors’s sphere.
The material is like porcelain or common opal. It has an egg shell white color with very fine grey dots.
The sphere is flawless and it has a great polish. It is slightly fluorescent (pale green) under SW UV.
Its approximate weight is 6.25oz, and it measures about 2.02″ in diameter (51.3 mm).

1.5″ Apatite Sphere with Calcite Crystals Green Pink SPG6
This Apatite sphere is very gemmy, chatoyant and has wonderful olive green and light pinkish colors.
The sphere comes with an extra bonus: it has a couple of orange calcite crystals. The large calcite crystal in the photo on the left is 18.8 mm long.
The sphere is slightly fluorescent with a light pinkish glow. The orange calcite crystals glow red under the UV light.
